Pleasantly surprised

I bought a new sony deck (car stereo) to replace another aging sony aftermarket unit. I was first thinking of getting a double DIN but decided against it thinking that my existing CDXGT400 would be a direct plug and play fit for the Sony harness/pigtail (I could interchange my CDXM8800, CDXGT400 and CDX630UI without changing the harness so I was expecting to be able to do so with the MEXN4100BT). Nope ! Sony made the female plug 25% smaller. It looked exactly the same but was reduced in size. I was now stuck with a single-line LCD and was having a bit of difficulting adjusting to the interface. I was just about ready to pack everything and return the unit until I paired my iphone !

Songpal Bluetooth and WiFi Audio Control was downloaded and I was so pleasantly surprised with the interfeace it provided. Everything was clear, displayed pictures, song titles, adjustment of all the decks setting including illumination, eq, sound position. I went from having a good unit with a horrible interface to an good unit with an excellent app control. This app is pure genius ! It is simple but it gives you full control of all the nuances of your deck with a much more user and touch friendly design. If youve used an app on any smart phone - this is as good as it gets in terms of 3rd party control. So far so good. I will try and update my review if I encounter any issues.
