Generally this app is ok but it often takes a long time and a lot of fiddling to connect to my receiver (DN1050). Makes it not very valuable as a remote because if it takes 5 minutes to change the volume, that just doesnt cut it. Also for some reason you cant control the "speaker" button remotely with this app. You can do all sorts of other more complicated stuff but the simple "speaker" button is missing. So its OK but not great. Update: Changed review to two stars because it just doesnt connect well. Makes it pretty useless as a remote. Knowing this prior to my purchase may have made me select a different receiver as iPhone control was a major buying factor. Sony - get it together. It isnt that hard.

This app still does not work! Why release an update if you dont fix the initial problem? Pathetic Sony, absolutely pathetic!!

Slow, unresponsive, takes several minutes to load songs on playlists, and volume controls seem to disappear at random. I got it to control the SRX-X7 bluetooth speaker, which sounds great, but this horrid app needs work.

The App works fine I run it with my Sony Car stereo but I find it completely drains my IPhone batteries after just a few hours or if I shut my stereo off and leave the App running in the background.

The app works great, only have a few suggestions that would make the app better. 1. A direct link or contact within the app to send suggestions. I cant find one so am using review section here. 2. Ability to move/delete/reorder tiles. I dont use USB or Deezer give the user option to delete or hide tiles. Keep up the good work.

Ok have had the Sony receiver for about two months.. Song pall worked perfectly until today.. Now I cant control my USB port from my phone anymore... If this is because of the update that is unacceptable... I cannot resort to using the remote that came with the device.. I would need to switch the display on my monitor constantly in order to do it.. Usb support is a must

App unusable, crashes on opening with the latest update. On iOS 9.

Agree with the previous comment. App crashes with 9.2. Able to pair and add speaker but hangs and then refuses to starts. Havent used it with any previous versions. Shows good potential.

Ever since latest update the app no longer loads on my phone nor does it connect to the radio. It use to be amazing

SongPal doesnt recognize the devises that are connected by Bluetooth. Stuck in the setup screen. Useless at this point!

Just seems to launch other apps...very little value in this app.

I bought a new sony deck (car stereo) to replace another aging sony aftermarket unit. I was first thinking of getting a double DIN but decided against it thinking that my existing CDXGT400 would be a direct plug and play fit for the Sony harness/pigtail (I could interchange my CDXM8800, CDXGT400 and CDX630UI without changing the harness so I was expecting to be able to do so with the MEXN4100BT). Nope ! Sony made the female plug 25% smaller. It looked exactly the same but was reduced in size. I was now stuck with a single-line LCD and was having a bit of difficulting adjusting to the interface. I was just about ready to pack everything and return the unit until I paired my iphone ! Songpal Bluetooth and WiFi Audio Control was downloaded and I was so pleasantly surprised with the interfeace it provided. Everything was clear, displayed pictures, song titles, adjustment of all the decks setting including illumination, eq, sound position. I went from having a good unit with a horrible interface to an good unit with an excellent app control. This app is pure genius ! It is simple but it gives you full control of all the nuances of your deck with a much more user and touch friendly design. If youve used an app on any smart phone - this is as good as it gets in terms of 3rd party control. So far so good. I will try and update my review if I encounter any issues.

The app is horrible, I cant even connect to use the features in the app. I can stream music to it no problem. Click on the app it says to add a speaker make sure its connected using Bluetooth. Its playing music from my iPhone 6 as Im trying to connect to the app. Deleted and reinstalled the app, removed the speaker from Bluetooth and re paired and unplugged the speaker. Still dont recognize that theres a connection!! Such a waste of time

Ive done all the steps, but the last screen wont switch even after Ive connected it. Not to impressed

Works great but it would be awesome to have the option of upgrading the sound system version.

Use to work ok but now I can no longer control anything. Just see the refresh swirl and it Never goes away. Sony you are a big company and this app is pathetic.

Very useful to control AV receiver remotely, can replace remote control for most tasks To improve: it requires every time to select the Sony device. Also does not have master volume control without entering media type.
